Some slightly one - sided matches and convincing wins over the last 2 weeks.
Dartfordians A had a 10-0 win over Sutton B and GRFC A also had a 10-0 win over GRFC B.
Leaders Meopham A had a less comfortbale time with their B team and whilst winning 8-2 there were some close matches. Derek Pettet beat Mark Heaton easily in 3 and Peter Wothingtonm also beat Brian Lees comfortably otherwise the rest went to the A side although Dave McAulay had a close win against Worthington and was pushed all the way by Chris Penning.
Sutton A had a convincing 10-0 win against GRFC B and GRFC A continued their good form with 8-2 victory against the recently improving Sutton B for whom Patrick Leung and George Joannou had good wins over Martin Winter.
Meopham B returned to winning ways in beating Dartfordians B 8-2. Emma Tovey enjoyed a great evening winning all 3 including a fine win over Ted Tydeman. Derek Pettet and Chris Penning also won 2 to keep the pressure on the top 2.
The top 2, Meopham A and Dartfordians A met for their second meeting of the season in what turned out to be a cracking match. Both sides had strong teams although Peter Davis was playing in Bromley Dartfordians called upon Richard Jackman, Ian Martin and Wayne Holder. For Meopham Dave McAulay played well to win all 3 but 2 of those wins were 17-15 in the 5th against Ian Martin having had 6 match points against him and being 10-5 down in the last game. He also beat Wayne Holder 12-10 in the 5th having looked likely to lose. John Boreham also won 3 although his were more comfortable both Jackman and Martin took games off him. The only singles win for Dartfordians was gained by Ian Martin over Brain Lees. Jackman and Martin also won the doubles but the 8-2 win for Meopham A puts them in a very strong position to retain the title. A very good standard of table tennis was seen in all the matches in which John Boreham was seen to move on occasions!
