Meopham A made sure of the Premier Division title by winning 9-1 against Dartfordians B for whom Ted Tydeman played well all night to only win 1 match in which he comprehensively beat Mark Heaton. Tydeman was unfortunate to lose to Brian Lees 11-9 in the 5th and also took John Davison to 5.
It has been an excellent all round performance by the players for Meopham who used all their 8 players in the squad and with one match to go are unbeaten this season. Can next season be a hatrick?
Dartfordians A made the runners up spot almost a certainty with a 8-2 win against Sutton A although with 5 matches going the distance the result could have been significantly different. David Brent continued his excellent season with a hard fought win against Wayne Holder and Adrian Foster secured his best win of the season in beating Peter Davis. Peter Rushbrook had a great night winning all 3.
GRFC A cemented their top 3 place with a 7-3 win over Meopham B. Justin Dodd won his 3 and was ably supported by Steve Mansfield with 2 and Martin Winter 1. Peter Worthington, Derek Pettit and Pam Butcher all won 1 each for Meopham and Butcher took a game off Dodd which hasn't happened much this season!
The bottom of the table clash saw Sutton B easily beat GRFC B 9-1 with Ian Parsons securing the only point for GRFC in beating George Joannou. Patrick Leung and Mick Wilson each managed maximums. These two teams will now be thinking about silverware in Division 1 next season.
