Fantastic Achievement For Claire Harvey
Meopham’s Claire Harvey travelled to Chichester on 22nd November to represent Kent at Cadet Level, a team consists of 3 boys and 2 girls. Kent took Medway’s Lauren Beaumont and Sevenoak’s Megan Sullivan to play in rotation, all three girls were on form and won all there matches as Kent won 3 / 4 of their matches. Claire won 5 / 5.
Saturday November 29th saw the London and South Eastern Trials being held at Kemnal Technology College , Sidcup.
Claire Harvey competed in the Under 15 Girls Singles Event. 11 girls were competing for the 6 places at the National Trials Finals which will be held in Grantham in April.
Claire finished second in her first group, only losing out to a girl from Surrey, with awkward short pimples on the back hand, but this was enough to get Claire in the top group for the afternoon, ensuring qualification for the National Trials Finals.
The afternoon was tougher and Claire finished 6th, this is a fantastic achievement as Claire has only just moved up to the Cadet age group. Congratulations.
