The first match of the week was a singles between Culverstone B and Meopham H. With Steve Randall, Jane Hyde and Julie Roper playing for Culverstone and Peter Rogers, Jane Geddes and Ryan Worthington for the Meopham team. Despite it being very cold and with the heating not working, there were some very good matches. Ryan did well to take an early 2-1 lead over Julie, but Julie managed to come back to take the victory. The match of the night was definitely Jane coming through to take her first victory of the season over Julie in a tight five set game. Overall though, Culverstone showed their strength taking the evening 8-1.
The doubles match of the week was Meopham F against Meopham G, with Arie Van Der Leer, Chris Brett and Alan Lander for the F team, and Pat Hodge, Peter Stacey and Joanna Lam for the G team. It was a very tight evening with only one match won in straight sets and many games going to deuce. The climax of the evening was the final game which saw Pat and Peter taking a very close win over Chris and Alan in four games. Unfortunately it was their only win of the night and Meopham F took the evening 5-1.
