The first match of the week saw a strong Mepham G against a slight faultering Meopham F, with Joanna Lam, Peter Stacey and Pat Hodge for the G's and Alan Lander, Chris Brett and Zhong Jiao Tan for the F's. Alan asserted his dominance winning all his three, although Pat came close to beating him and only lost 11-8 in the fifth. Joanna also came close against Alan taking a game and almost taking it to a decider, but Alan closed the match out narrowly in the fourth by 12-10. Chris had a very tough night with Peter coming through in a great victory to take the fifth by 11-9. Chris also lost out to Joanna in an extremely close 3 legs being beaten 14-12 12-10 and 11-9. Tan played well beating Joanna and Peter, but came unstuck against an in-form Pat who also beat Chris making the final score 5-4 to Meopham F.
The second match of the week was a doubles betwen Meopham H and Culverstone B, with Sam Perez-Ugarte, Joe Baker and Lynne Tovey for the Meopham and Helene Spence, Jane Hyde and Steve Randall for Culverstone. Unfortunately it was a fairly one-sided evening although the paring of Joe and Lynne proved the toughest with two five game matches on both their pairings. But overall it was a 6-0 win for Culverstone B.
